First Grade

1st Grade

First graders learned how to use block code using apps like Kidlo Coding and Box Island. Then, they moved on to using the code.org website to code Angry Birds mazes, harvest crops, and collect jewels. The students used their coding skills to program the DASH and Dot robots. Oh what fun!

During the month of February, First grade is celebrating black history month in STELLAR by learning about six of the most important African Americans in U.S. history:

Harriet Tubman, Booker T. Washington, Rosa Parks, Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., Jackie Robinson, and Ruby Bridges.

February is also Dental Health month. After the mid-winter recess, students will be exploring the do’s and don’ts of keeping their teeth healthy!
